Astonishing January 2013

Greetings from Ipoh, family, brothers, sisters, friends, and readers. It's February in 2013! Happy belated Lunar New Year to all of you. May the year of Snake would bring all of us prosperity & endless luck regardless of our races, religious and background.

I must say this year Chinese New Year had been one of the most wonderful festive celebrations I ever had. Something special & ample time spent with the family, relatives, and friends. For the last December & January was indeed spent with really worthy. Met up with a lot of friends that not been met & also attended my close brother's wedding lunch. Set a new milestone in OCBC Cycle Malaysia 2013; won a First Runner-Up! Awesome experience, I must say.

Unfortunately, just when I was enjoying my good time with my family & friends; this came out. I screwed up my exam by merely a tiny micro bit. This is so saddening & pathetic. Sigh.

I believe this is a challenge for me to work smarter & drill into much more details while contemplating the same knowledge in different aspects. I strongly believe what does not kill me makes me stronger & stand a step higher.

That's for now, should end my post today with a photo of myself with a politic magnet that none of us do not know him, Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad .

That's all for now people, cheers!

Live Bold

Be careful what you water your dreams with.
Water them with worry and fear
and you will produce weeds that choke the life from your dream.
Water them with optimism and solutions and you will cultivate success.
Always be on the lookout for ways to turn a problem into an opportunity for success.
Always be on the lookout for ways to nurture your dream. - Lao Tzu

The Magic Formula - Gratitude

May 2012 has been a hectic yet fruitful month for me.

First of all, I would like to give thanks to God, family, bosses, customers, supportive co-workers, and also everyone. I was reading the latest issue of Calibre magazine last night, this catches my attention - "Gratitude is the cornerstone of our civilization"

I couldn't agree more with the more gratitude you display, the more benefits come your way. Do not complain but bear with what you given, think and act upon it, deliver the best with all you. Always feel thankful with people or things around us, they have given us a chance to prove how far we can go and make us undertake the pain in order to make us stronger.

June 2012, the second half of year 2012 is finally here.

No one is able to anticipate what is in front of us but for the past 5 months, I have re-assured myself that luck is all about preparation meeting the moment of opportunity. Very often we heard people around us complaining the unfair treatments or the lacking of luck in life, how many really appreciate the moments before the opportunity knock on your door; get yourself well prepared. I'm an impatience person just like any of you out there. I am waiting for my opportunity moment while at the same time preparing myself for it.

CFA exam in less than 6 months of time, wish me luck people.

God bless.

Today's Contemplation

  1. You can succeed the way you are.
  2. Success comes in every shape and profile. Success comes to some of the most negative people as well as the most positive ones. Success has more equal vision and less prejudice than the positive thinking theory promoted by some people.
  3. If you give your negativity enough thought, you may discover that they are in face the strongest assets in your professional development.
  4. Don't attempt to change your opinion about yourself. By ignoring your inner voice of self-judgement, you are able to free yourself from the trap that says, "change comes before success."
  5. Your negativity does not have as much power as your imagination thinks it has.
  6. The standards of judging negativity are artificially manipulated by humans and are not carved in stone. The standards often change according to the times and culture. What was considered positive in a given time or space may be considered negative in another.
  7. For some, the time of hibernating and resting is an essential process for generating highly creative energies.
  8. The important thing is to love your negativity, not to judge them, and to learn to use them to raise you up.
  9. The evil of all negativity is not in emotions and thoughts themselves, but in the judgments of these emotions and thoughts. Often judgement come in the vicious form of guilt, shame, and self-blame.
  10. Gather all of your negativity, without the intention to correct them and without judgement. While living and working with your negativity, know that these qualities are what make you unique. Be positively negative.

January 2012

Smooth sailing, something that I have been longing for in life, had awaken me with the cruel reality - it is impossible to have smooth sailing all the times. In the journey of searching for the purpose of life, I often heard people complaining how tough life is. I do not want to give in but continues to strive forward while learning as much as I can. It is indeed a challenge to succeed. No one dislikes enjoying the fruit from the tree of success. While everyone enjoying the fruits, how many of us did examine the root of the tree? The fruitful moments will not last forever; what matters here is to grow more trees & harvest more fruits.

January 2012, the first milestone I have ever achieved after working for a couple of months. Nothing is better than the sense of achievements when the hard work finally pays off. I thank God for His blessings & mercy. Also, heartfelt gratitude to my parents endless encouragements, Dr Yeoh (my mentor)'s wise words,  my immediate superior's measureless support and people around me that have been demonstrating full support towards me.

Stepping into the shortest month of the year, February, new challenges awaits me. Not only I have to be prepared & strengthen my will to attack challenges ahead, I'm also learning to appreciate the effort of others & give thanks. I have to conquer the awkward & contrived moments when expressing my appreciation to others.
